The Borough of Jim Thorpe does not have any ALPR contracts.
Jim Thorpe asserts that it does not have any records for stationary ALPRs. This confirms the two cameras at the intersection of Lentz Trail and Flagstaff Road are paid for by a private party, but this doesn't sit right with me. $6,000 per year for Flock cameras seems like quite the price for a private property owner. Aren't there cheaper solutions for this?
Many users on Facebook let me know that the two cameras on Lentz Trail have been there for a while. Some of them state that they were put there to prevent dumping. That makes sense, but for that reason and the price of these cameras, they seem like the wrong tool.
